Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Callibrate your Wacom tutorialHad you  finally  made  the transition from intuos 3 to intuos 4?, or Are you rich to change into an intuos 5? Had you made the transition from a first generation cintiq  to the new ones?. More levels of pressure will mean  more quality to the paintings, am i right?. 
Did you thought that by default the pen will it be like using butter on bread?, you try it for the first time and you love all of it, you said i have sooooooo much control on my strokes im having a blast. Then only  to realize you only have total control of the brush but when you are moving it really slow?. But when you do quick strokes the pressure drops a lot of paint making you redraw tons of stuff?
Did you ever thought that painter its hard to handle with new tablet? Too much pressure? If it has more pressure why i cant control more easier the beggining of the stroke which is more crucial?.

The Jolene Houser Support Book

Hello Fellow Deviants,

The Jolene Houser Support Book is now out!!!
A short time ago on her way to the convention Saboten-Con, artist Jolene Houser :iconjolenehouserart: was in a car accident. She had a fractured skull, 17 stitches in her forehead, 6 staples on her elbow from a large laceration, and a fractured #1 vertebrae.
To show our support of Jolene and her amazing talent a great group of artist's and friends put together this beautiful sketch book.  

Featuring the talents of...
David Doub, Daniel Campos, Joamette Gil, Nei Ruffino, Mike DeBalfo,Cameron Stewart, Chris Reinhardt, Tone Rodriguez, Mara Aum, Jerry Gonzales, Judit Tondora, Mike Champion, LS, Patrick Finch, Sketchbook Sage, Eugene Argent, Jakob Burgos and that hack Charles Holbert Jr.

All profit from the book will be given to Jolene to help with various bills stemming from the accident and medical care.

Agh, how long is the sale going to go on? I'm going to be flat strapped this whole month, but next month I should have at least ten spare dollars. This looks to have a lot of great artists, particularly a certain favorite of mine (:iconhinthintplz:), and it's for a fantastic reason. She's healing nicely, I hope? Haven't heard much about how she's been recovering.

She seems to be in very good spirits and posted a picture on Facebook just a few days ago to show that she had her neck brace taken off which I and many others were very happy to see.

I hope I can get my hands on a copy of the book too!
