Mind you, I always imagine she has shorts on under there. I know I would if I could fly and wore a kilt (against tradition, but it's hard to be inspiring when they can see your McDoogles).

That is, I'm not opposed to alternatives. Supergirl has had some excellent variation costumes over the years. But I think crotch shield is epic fail.. also, knee-less boots
It just makes way too much sense that Kryptonians would have a more bulky, compact build due to the higher gravity of their home planet.
For some characters it makes sense for their physicality to represent aspects of their character and not just all the same generic superhero body.
I like the draw Superman with the build of a quarterback, after all he is a farm-boy. The Flash should have the slim build of a Olympic runner and it would be nice for teenage characters to actually look like teenagers.
It is nice seeing some diverse body types in Super BFFs!
