Boy have I been waiting to post this one!

I had been trying of and on to draw my own version of the Mario gang with the only problem being that I would only think of tackling the task when tagging along with a friend who's group of friends were all gamers... that went on for maybe a couple of years with no success.

Then one night out at the theater when Watchmen came out Hawt Girl (yes, the very same Hawt Girl that I'm always drawing) asked me to draw a picture of Mario for her friend Liliana and I said "sure, I'll knock out a good one for you tomorrow"... it turns out that's all the motivation I really needed, I'm always at my best when I feel that I'm drawing something for someone and the very next morning I knocked out this sketch.

I knew from the moment that I drew this picture that I couldn't post the lines here. The hastily drawn Princess Peach I drew years ago for Anime Vegas has to be the most requested picture in my gallery that colorists have wanted to take a stab at and I just couldn't stand the thought of seeing the bright video game colors on this picture (which has already happened a couple of times with a separate Mario that Ive' drawn) when I drew the brothers here to be a bit more gritty, they are plumbers after all.
So there was only one man for the job! >

One of the unexpected effects was that after seeing the colors on this picture and reading the comments on it in Thistle's gallery was that a Pandora's Box of repressed memories from my childhood was opened.
