Marvel Beginnings 2 sketch cards from UpperDeck.

:bulletpurple: Nova :bulletpurple: Medusa :bulletpurple: Winter Soldier :bulletpurple:

Some of the last cards I completed in the Marvel Beginnings 2 set after fully completing the Avengers sketch cards.
I took a week long break and in that week a ton of bad news broke out in the comic community which made the very small number of cards I had left remarkably difficult to complete. after spending a little more than a year unable to draw anything of worth I couldn't let the bad air in the comic world hold me back any further.

Oh snap! Its the main man: Nova Prime! Great work on the colors. Man, I sure hope Marvel brings him back soon and explain how this new "Kid Nova" all of a sudden came on scene. I did read that Marvel does have a plan to bring the original back in the near future.

Sorry to hear that there was some bad news in the community.

Good to see these were done well.

"Kid Nova" may have come onto the scene just to coincide with the younger Nova in the new Ultimate Spider-man cartoon. A lot of that stuff is linked directly to marketing. I hear people are seeing that a lot with Avenger vs X-Men right now.

Sam Alexander is the Nova for the both Ultimate Spidey cartoon and the current Marvel U Point One. I am of the camp that has mixed thoughts of the guy but overall its still cool there is a Nova Centurion flying around. He is like a much younger version of Richard Rider in the 1998 series where he got his powers back but wasn't always at 100% full capacity.

Many of us Nova fans knew this new "Kid Nova"(say I like to call him) would appeal to the younger fans & may have been why Marvel chose to go this route...seeing how Marvel had a "kiddie-friendly" version of the original Nova in Marvel Adventures.

Even though the Nova series was received well by many critcs...the book didn't sell as well as it should have and I'm just glad the writers of Nova(Abnett and Lanning)didn't want to kill off Nova and instead put him in comics "limbo" until Marvel higher ups can figure out what to do.
Also, Thanos is a pretty heavy duty baddie so I don't think Marvel would have wanted to end his story just like that.

You did a terrific job on them. I would definitely pay for a single card, especially of Medusa. :)

I'm glad you like them!
Medusa was a fun one to draw... It was almost Lockjaw in that card but I went for the prettier of the two.

Maybe Crystal would have been on the card, too.

If I had enough time I would have done a full Inhumans set... probably the Agents of Atlas as well.
I'm still debating doing that elsewhere.
