Boy it's seems like I've really been absent around here. I've been struggling to get anything done lately including drawing anything decent but hopefully that will change soon, until then here's something I managed to draw maybe about a month ago. I see that I have a ton on messages and notes to answer, hopefully I'll be getting to those soon as well.
Comic Oasis always seems to have the collected addition of the original comic series in so it's neat to see where The Crow came from before the movies but I can't help but imagine a updated version... plus there's been some talk of a reboot movie in the works.
Oh boy, they better be careful if they reboot the Crow. Talk about cult classics, the fans will go more nitpicky nuts then the ones who got that new Wonder Woman TV show killed (though really, it did deserve it.)
I adore this, just about as much as I adore Death from the Sandman (which, by the way, my sister got me Endless Nights for Mother's Day. Very thoughtful, no?). And, as a Cherokee, my totemic animal is a crow (and a jaguar, oddly.). So I find a particular connection with this. The starkness in which you rendered our dear departed Brandon Lee captures the essence of the character well. Bravo, Kid! I hope you get over the obstacles that you are currently facing, too. Best of luck!
Actually I wasn't really going for a Brandon Lee likeness, I seem to like drawing my own version of the whatever character when I'm able. The Crow movie did a really good job with adapting the comic book but I imagine if the Crow comic where around today they might have update the look a bit.
I love Brendan Lee and that movie.
